It lists the number of parolees and probationers in each state, names the states with the largest and smallest parole and probation populations and the largest and smallest rates of community supervision, and identifies the states with the biggest increases. It also describes the race, sex, and Hispanic makeup of these populations and reports the proportions of parolees and probationers who either successfully finished probation or parole or failed because of a rule violation or a new offense.
