In the 1994 study, 67.5% of all released prisoners were rearrested within 3 years; 61.7% of released prisoners who were convicted of a violent offense were rearrested, 73.8% of released property offenders, 66.7% of released drug offenders, and 62.2% of released public-order offenders.

In the 1983 study, 62.5% of all released prisoners were rearrested within 3 years, 59.6% of released prisoners who were convicted of a violent offense were rearrested, 68.1% of released property offenders, 50.4% of released drug offenders, and 54.6% of released public-order offenders.
